Question on function editor...

Postby egamez » Tue Mar 18, 2008 4:58 pm

Hi,
I'm confused. By looking at your tutorial (which is very informative) I don't understand why the top row is the "output" and the lower row is the "input". If I create an input node and then right click it, I get all the elements listed on the top row plus some others. Also, if I create an output node and then get their different properties, I get what is listed in the bottom row.

I hope I'm explaining myself.

Thank you.

It what e-onsoftware call them.
I think it is easy to understand if you think about top row as outside of material nodes, environment nodes. And bottom nodes as material control nodes. I did notice that sometimes naming inside Vue is confusing.

Sometimes reffering can be output from environment and output to material.

Thank you very much!

This is one of the best, if not the best, vue webpage on the web.
Keep up the great work!

Imagine the texture computation as a flow of data.

The top row contains the environmental information about each point where the texture is going to be computed.

The data flow "downwards" (or better, along the direction of the arrows of the graph) towards the bottom row, where are the various attributes of the texture.

It is just that.

Bye!!!
