If I get a degree in Animation and media arts can I still get a job in graphic design? I would like to get a degree in animation and media arts at the art institutes of pitsburg online division, but since there aren't a whole lot of jobs open, I was wondering if I can still get a job in graphic design. They don't really have job openings in animation in montana, but there are quite a few in graphic design. I really want to be an animator, but I still have to make a living somehow if I can't find a job. Please answer. Thanks.

Easiest to find job as UI artist, it's very good pay and always need for it.
Next is comers artist, design product related stuff.
You can also look at internship for video production studios and gaming studios.
Always it is good idea to grab some projects, even those are not paying, to build your portfolio.
When I interview people for jobs, number one for me it's expirance.

Marelenex as u said there is very less animation jobs you can go for internship as you can learn a lot of things as a intern with handsome amount of salary . Or you can work as a free lancer for animation work as there is wide scope for freelancer animators all over the world.
