What DS Tutorials are needed?

What DS Tutorials are needed?

Postby riggsdp on Wed Sep 02, 2009 12:51 pm

Hello everyone! I will be putting together some DAZ Studio tutorials and would like to know what you would like tutorials on in DS3.

To introduce myself, my name is Darlisa Riggs and I worked for DAZ for 18 months, 6 mths as the SW QA Manager and the rest as the Tech Writer, and still do contract work for them on documentation. So, basically, I generate all the documentation for their software and plug-ins. I'm also a moderator/admin at the DAZ Forums.

So, please feel free to reply to this post with suggestions for DS tutorials. Thanks!

Every tut is welcome for me. I have got DS for a long time and always upgrade it, but never find really into this application. I always use Poser for posing some models and import them into vue. A DS import for Vue would be great! And I love the AniMate plugin!
Have a fantastic day!

Would it be possible to do a comparison between the FREE DAZStudio vs DAZStudio Advanced and even perhaps vs Poser & Poser Pro?

Thanks

I just discovered this thread, and I think this is an excellent question. I hope you are still interested in providing some Daz Studio tutorials.

I'd love to see a tutorial sort of on the "project" scale - i.e. start with importing one of the D|S figures, e.g. V4.2, add some of omnifreaker's HSS, clothing with material changes, props, a dog or cat, do some poses on V4 & the animals, introduce some BG scenery, some lighting tips - e.g. uberEnvironment, and finally some tips on the "perfect" render settings. I know that's asking for much but this would give those of us who are not brand spanking new to D|S a rounded basis for further experimentation. I've dabbled for some time now with the program so I'm not a nobie, but am always lacking in the lighting/render settings area.

I would like to see tutorials using all the free content first, including setting up the model library and materials as well. Then getting into posing and using mats and props, etc.

after that, I would like to see tutorials on how to replace/use replacement materials/textuers for Victoria's face, and body morphs and clothing, so we can clearly see how it's done going from a default V4 to a beautiful blonde in a swimsuit or dress. Same with Michael and the Freak, etc. :)
