Matte Painting Tutorial

Here is a site I've been to lots of times and they just posted a matte painting tutorial. It is very long which means you won't miss anything and the author (unknown) explains everything very well. If you have ever wanted to learn some new skills or wondered how to blend images, this is the tutorial for you. Turn it on and eat dinner watching it.

What a great find. Ive only skimmed through it at this point but very interesting and clearly detailed. Thank you, cant wait to give this a go.

The way that I am familiar with as to how this is done is with matte painting. You have your VUE/3d terrain or objects and then render them out onto a layer. Then in Photoshop you start adding your layers together and blend them together. Here is a link for some video tuts on matte paintings I posted months ago. Have a look and it might answer your questions.
