Hello from Redmond Washington

Postby jilted » Tue Dec 09, 2008 11:23 pm

I have posted a few times here and thought it might be a good idea to introduce myself to the community.

I am a professional game developer living the in the Seattle area. I do contract work for games, my most recent contract was for Microsoft's Turn Ten Studio (the makers of the popular Forza racing series). I also do work for a popular BF2 mod 'Point of Existence'.

I do 'environment' work for games, creating worlds for games is my job. I mostly work in Max and photoshop, but enjoy working with whatever tools fit the situation at hand. I also use zbrush, crazybump, and VUE!

Here is my portfolio site:

I also just started a little 'workbench', sorta a blog showing whatever I am working on at the time.

Hey hey!

Sounds like you have an awesome job! I would love to be doing your kind of work. I am currently looking for some sort of "digital" job here in Scotland but no luck so far.

I really like the stuff you do, share your skills 8)

If it helps any, I trained myself to do what I do. After 10 years in the printing industry, I managed to turn my hobby (modding existing games) and turn it into a commercial skill.

Thanks for the welcome :)

Yes, the xstream version and max 9. I do not use any other primary 3D applications.

I have been messing around with using geocontrol + vue to make terrain with pretty good results (if you are asking about other apps I use with vue).

Here is a post I wrote about the process with an example http://joshlarsen.synthesisgraphics.com ... ontrol-vue
